About Michael
A photographer for more than 30 years, Michael works with all formats but prefers 8 x 10, 4 x 5, and medium format. He embraces traditional black and white photography as his medium of choice. The art of photography provides Michael balance and room for creativity. He develops and prints his own work and enjoys finding new and exciting ways to make it speak.
Michael’s passion has afforded him awards for his work over the years and he has been published in magazines and has had numerous exhibits.
Michael has a degree in History and minored in Photography. As a teacher and instructor he takes great pride in sharing his skills. He has taught all levels behind and in front of the camera as well as at the computer. Michael continues to grow and become skilled at all aspects of the Photography industry. With digital format added to his talents he has found even more creativity and flavor.
Photography is not just a passion for Michael, it is his career and what keeps him grounded. He feels privileged to be able to have a job he loves and feels it’s too enjoyable to be called work. His work in both commercial and wedding photography has been his mainstay for more than 30 years. As a wedding photographer he has captured over three-hundred blushing brides. Michael’s passion for sports and skill as a commercial photographer provided him with opportunities as a lead photograph for major local sports teams as well as capturing events and personalities in the sports arena.
About Mary
Mary is the heart behind the business of Sage Photography. She can walk into a crowded room and uncover the story behind the story and it shows in her photos. Mary shoots the way the client wants and offers flexibility and unobtrusiveness in reaching those goals.
She is the mother our two children, while balancing the demands of our business. Mary’s background in human behavior and acute perceptions drive her photographic vision. As the ‘other half’ of Sage Photography, Mary is the perfect balance to Michael in both business and in life. Their own marriage in September, 2005 reminded them of how important this day is and what great photography means to not just the bride and groom but to the whole family.
Mary married the love of her life Michael and definitely remembers the group process of putting together a wedding, understanding the stress and energy it takes. They understand where their clients are coming from which helps Mary & Michael conduct their business in a relaxed, low-key manner.

Mary loves the glamour, the passion and the beauty of weddings. Being creative and striving to improve skills both artistic and technical.
